Mikhail Verbitsky, Ph.D., Sc.D.
Dr. Verbitsky has managed innovation projects for Fortune 500 companies worldwide including Alcoa, Covidien, GlaxoSmithKline, Mars, PepsiCo and Wrigley. He has also made important contributions to the development of GEN3's methodology, especially in the areas of disruptive innovation, product portfolio diagnostics, innovation agenda development, and IP research.
Before joining GEN3, Dr. Verbitsky was Director of Software Applications and Training for Invention Machine Corporation, a Research Scientist at Yale University, and Leading Scientist at the Institure of Oceanology of Russian Academy of Sciences. He has also held visiting research and professorship positions at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Universite Catholique de Louvain (Institute D'Astronomie et de Geophysique G. Lemaitre), and MIT.
Dr. Verbitsky is recognized for his pioneering research in different areas of geophysical fluid dynamics. He is the author of two books, 90 scientific papers, and 15 patents and applications.
Dr. Verbitsky earned his M.S. with Honors in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering from State Marine Technical University in St. Petersburg, Russia.
Dr. Verbitsky holds a Ph.D. in Physics and Mathematics from the Institute of Oceanology of Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow, Russia. He also holds the title of Associate Professor from the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Dr. Verbitsky was awarded a Doctor of Science Degree in Physics and Mathematics by the Supreme Attestation Commission of Russia, which is granted only to scientists who establish novel directions in science.
